I am a Certified Perinatal Mental Health Professional striving to support members of the BIPOC and LGBTQIA+ community as they navigate the challenges and transitions experienced throughout the perinatal stage of life.
I am client-focused when working with individuals and families, providing space for them to openly discuss the impact family building has had on their mental health. I encourage clients to actively participate in their treatment and collaboratively work with each client to identify their therapeutic goals. I use a mixture of modalities, from cognitive-behavioral techniques to holistic and integrative approaches. I always strive to bring culture and identity into the therapy space as I believe one’s lived experiences are often shaped by their personal identities.
I have experience in supporting women as they navigate the complexities of high-risk pregnancies, unexpected pregnancies, birth trauma, perinatal loss, and perinatal mood and anxiety disorders. I have worked closely with several medical professionals, gaining knowledge about the challenges of managing a pregnancy.
I have a passion for reproductive health and fertility that was only strengthened when I faced my own fertility challenges; growing my own family via in-vitro fertilization (IVF). As a Black woman, who is also a Single Mother by Choice (SMC/SMBC), I understand the adversity individuals of color face when attempting to access reproductive health services.
Crescent and Crown was founded to provide solace and hope to marginalized identities. Our mission is to bridge the gap in access to quality mental healthcare to address issues related to the reproductive journey.
Crescent and Crown supports clients throughout their reproductive journeys; from contemplating parenthood, trying to conceive, infertility, perinatal loss, pregnancy, and postpartum.
Like the crescent moon, we want to offer you light and optimism on the journey to parenthood. We will always encourage you to proudly wear your crown on your head despite the adversities that you encounter along the way."
